The Audubon Bird Call is a sweet and beautifully crafted item, connecting people with nature in a delightful way. This simple but perfectly tuned bird call can be kept in the pocket and taken on every adventure or outing, to call or ‘talk to’ birds.

Each bird call comes in a presentation box. We recommend adding a piece of string so that it can be worn as a necklace. Make sure the string can easily be opened/removed for the safety of your child. Sturdy cast zinc and solid birch construction. Rosin (pine resin) capsule included to maintain the call’s distinctive chirp. If the birdcall gets damp or wet, make sure to dry it out fully before the resin is re-applied.

The bird call’s sound is produced by rotating the wooden cylinder against the cast zinc plug.  By varying the pressure between the two surfaces while twisting back and forth, a variety of bird sounds can be accurately imitated. Originally conceived by songbird hunters in Europe, the bird call attracts birds by creating the illusion that other birds are in the area.
